Senior outfielder Shannon Graves of the Goldey-Beacom College softball team has been named as the GBCAthletics.com Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of April, 2012.
Graves led the Lightning with a .377 batting average in the month of April with 26 hits and 12 runs scored. A starter in all 22 games in the month of April, Graves also led the Lightning with seven multi-hit games, including five two-hit efforts in her final seven games.
In addition, she had nine stolen bases and finished the season with a 10-game hitting streak, which including six multi-hit games.
The Lightning's fourth-leading hitter with a .317 average, Graves started 44 games as a senior and ranked third on the team with 45 hits. She also stole 18 bases in 20 attempts. She also led the team with 33 runs scored.
