Sophomore Michelle Foster has been named as the Goldey-Beacom College Female Athlete of the Month for the month of March, 2012 after leading the Lightning softball team to an 11-7 record, including a school-record 10-game win streak. The team's second-leading hitter with a .350 average this season, Foster recorded a hit in 14 of the team's 18 games, including a nine-game hitting streak. She started all 18 games in March and posted a .397 batting average with 23 hits and 15 runs batted in. She also ranked second on the team in March with 16 runs scored.
