About Us
Purpose
The purpose of this committee is to represent the student-athlete’s voice on campus of Goldey-Beacom College. In addition, it exists to promote good communication between the student-athletes, athletic department administration, coaches and other staff. Also, the SAAC has the responsibility to actively encourage student-athlete involvement in campus and community events. And lastly, the committee will serve as a forum for discussing issues and ideas in athletics.
Membership
The SAAC will consist of two representatives from each varsity team sponsored by Goldey-Beacom College. Each representative will serve as a liaison between the SAAC and their team. Each person will serve the duration of his or her undergraduate studies and removal can be voluntary or by a committee vote.
Attendance is mandatory. If a representative is unable to attend, they can be volunteered for activities by the present members. Each person has a limit of three unexcused absences allowed. More than three will result in removal. The coach will choose replacements.
Officers
The elected officers of the SAAC shall be Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. These officers shall be elected by the end of April to serve for the next year. The officers will only serve for one year then must be re-elected. Each representative has one vote per office.
