Cross Country Teams Enjoy Another Solid Day the GBC Fall Classic

Goldey-Beacom once put forth a strong outing at the GBC Fall Classic with the men's team closing second and the women's unit ending third at Carousel Park in Wilmington, DE.

The men's squad again was paced by freshman Zach Landvik-Larsen (Stroudsburg, PA), who continues to show that he will be an impact competitor for years to come. After closing ninth two weeks ago, Landvik-Larsen today ended second in 28:02.1.

Freshman Chris Crossen (Magnolia, DE) ended ninth in 29:18.3, junior Chris Townsend (Voorhees, NJ) was 11th in 29:35.9, sophomore Jon Roberts (Wilmington, DE) closed 17th in 30:28.3 and senior Jacob Smeltzer (Merchantville, NJ) was 35th in 33:16.6.

Goldey-Beacom ended with 67 points and Georgian Court won with 36 points. Hussein Elmeshad won with a time of 27:43.0.

The women's side featured one of their best performances to date. Junior Cara Jones (Wilmington, DE) again continued to be one of the spotlights, ending 11th in 23:15.6 and freshman Lilly Crone (Felton, DE) was right behind her in 24:01.2.

Sophomore Shawnae Sykes (Wilmington, DE) was 20th in 25:56.0, freshman Lexy Horsey (Selbyville, DE) ended 21st in 26:07.6 and sophomore Sarah Webb (Newark, DE) closed 22nd in 26:35.3.

Goldey-Beacom amassed 78 points, but could not outdo Georgian Court's perfect score of 15 points. Kaitlyn Bragen won in 19:55.6.

Goldey-Beacom is in action next Saturday at the Hornet Harrier Invitational in Winchester, VA.
