Women’s Tennis Ends Its Stay at the ITA East Regional

Goldey-Beacom once again faced the region's best as it continued play at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association East Regional at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY.

One of the major stories for the Lightning this weekend was freshman Sara Edebo (Gothenburg, Sweden), who made noise after getting through the qualifying round of singles. Edebo turned many heads with a 7-6, 6-4 first-round victory over 2016 and 2017 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Year Karla Miletic from University of the Sciences.

Edebo also impressed at doubles, teaming with sophomore Kristin Radeke (Bremen, Germany) to notch an 8-6 second-round triumph over Marija Milic and Simone Parn from the District of Columbia.

Goldey-Beacom is scheduled to return to action September 25 at Jefferson for a 3:30 pm match in Philadelphia, PA.
