Cross Country Takes Part in the Gettysburg Invitational

Goldey-Beacom as always went against some formidable competition, this time at the Gettysburg Invitational in Gettysburg, PA.

The men's side got a boost from freshman Chris Crossen (Magnolia, DE), who closed 46th in 28:00.9. Freshman Zach Landvik-Larsen (Stroudsburg, PA) ended 51st in 28:04.9 and sophomore Jon Roberts (Wilmington, DE) finished 111th in 29:28.1 over the 8,000-meter course.

The Lightning closed in 18th place and Saint Francis University was first.

The women's unit was paced by junior Cara Jones (Wilmington, DE), who ended 115th in 26:46.6. Senior Mary Ann Jones (Frederick, MD) was 156th in 28:15.6 and freshman Lilly Crone (Felton, DE) closed 173rd in 28:57.1 over 6,000 meters.

Goldey-Beacom ended 19th and Allegheny won the title.

This was the final test for the Lightning before the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championships, will take place at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia. The men's race goes off first at 9:00 am, followed by the women's trek at 10:00 am.
