Cross Country Opens 2018 at the Panther Invitational

Goldey-Beacom took to the cross country course for the first time in 2018 by taking part at the Panther Invitational in Bethpage, NY.

Senior Jono Hooper (Brisbane, Australia) once again starred on the men's side. The two-time member last season of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Weekly Honor Roll closed 18th in 27:03.2. This helped the men's side end the meet in 12th place.

Sophomore Jason Hyland (Audubon, NJ) was 63rd in 30:22.2, senior Victor Rueda-Jimenez (Milford, DE) ended 64th in 30:24.2, sophomore Chauncey Nichols (New Castle, DE) finished 77th in 31:47.3 and junior Adam Quann (Pennsville, NJ) closed 83rd in 32:56.2.

The women's side was led by junior Alivia Gillard (Manchester, England) in her debutant race for the Lightning. The transfer from Cumberland County College ended 40th in 22:36.0 in leading her unit to a 15th-place showing.

Mary Ann Jones (Frederick, MD) ended 67th in 24:26.8 and fellow senior Juana Henao (Bogota, Colombia) finished 75th in 24:57.6. Both are in their first full season with the squad after competing last season for the women's soccer team.

Junior Taylor McKinney (Wilmington, DE) was 81st in 25:24.6 and senior Chelby McCall (Chesapeake City, MD) finished 89th in 27:09.5.

Goldey-Beacom on Saturday, September 8 competes at the Dutchmen Invitational in Lebanon, PA. The women go at 10:15 am and the men's race begins at 11:00 am.
