Cross Country Partakes in the Don Cathcart Invitational

Goldey-Beacom saw its women's cross country team finish ninth and the men close 10th at the Don Cathcart Invitational in Salisbury, MD.

Senior Crystal McCollum (Elkton, MD) paced the Lightning by closing 48th in 25:50.66 with freshman Cara Jones (Wilmington, DE) 52nd in 26:21.37. Freshman Brittany Delgado (Hamilton, NJ) was 65th in 27:32.07, sophomore Ruth Fernandez (Madrid, Spain) ended 78th in 29:01.19 and freshman Holly Tesoro (Milford, DE) finished 89th in 30:40.36.

GBC ended with 252 points and East Stroudsburg won with 37.

The men's unit was led by junior Jono Hooper (Brisbane, Australia), who overall closed 22nd in 26:44.13. Sophomore Adam Quann (Pennsville, NJ) was 61st in 28:30.03, Chauncey Nichols (New Castle, DE) ended 77th with 29:32.56, fellow freshman Jon Roberts (Wilmington, DE) finished 84th in 30:13.59 and freshman Luis Rodriguez (New Castle, DE) was 97th in 32:47.57.

The Lightning recorded 246 points and Salisbury took the crown with 28 points.

Goldey-Beacom next Saturday competes at the CNU Invitational in Newport News, VA.
