Cross Country Excels at the Jack St. Clair Memorial

Another strong showing for Goldey-Beacom was on display at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia as the teams took part in the Jack St. Clair Memorial.

The men's side was guided by junior Victor Rueda-Jimenez (Milford, DE), who finished 35th in 30:25.5 over the 8,000-meter course. Freshman Adam Quann (Pennsville, NJ) was 46th in 31:21.8 and senior Rudy Braxton (Bear, DE) closed right behind him in 31:23.6.

Junior Josh Shultz (Easton, PA) closed 78th in 33:45.6, senior Ludric Francis (Smyrna, DE) was 84th in 34:28.9, Justin Morris (Abington, MD) ran in 35:58.9 and fellow junior Solomon Cox (Rehobeth Beach, DE) ended in 36:59.7.

The Lightning closed sixth among collegiate teams with 237 points and Bloomfield ended first.

The women's unit was paced by junior Jordan Dodson (Port Deposit, MD), who finished 47th in 26:51.5. Junior Crystal McCollum (Elkton, MD) closed 53rd in 27:12.0 over the 6,000-meter course.

Freshman Katie Jensen (Selbyville, DE) ended 88th in 29:33.0, sophomore Julianna Wasiluk (Lviv, Ukraine) closed in 40:43.1 and sophomore Kayla Lucas (Port Deposit, MD) was next in 41:04.6.

GBC finished 11th with 309 points and Philadelphia U. won the title.

It is the Lightning's final tune-up before the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship on October 23. The women's race at Belmont Plateau begins at 9:00 am and the men go at 10:00 am.
