Cross Country Takes Part in the Paul Short Invitational

It is the goal of many cross country programs to say they competed at the prestigious Paul Short Invitational and Goldey-Beacom did just that on the campus of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA.

Freshman Adam Quann (Pennsville, NJ) continued his solid run for the men's squad by ending 25th in 27:01, junior Victor Rueda-Jimenez (Milford, DE) closed in 28:49 and senior Rudy Braxton (Bear, DE) ended in 29:36 over the 8,000-meter course. Junior Josh Shultz (Easton, PA) finished in 31:40, senior Ludric Francis (Smyrna, DE) raced in 32:43 and junior Solomon Cox (Rehobeth Beach, DE) closed in 35:14.

The men closed the race 23rd in a field of Division II and Division III schools. Perennial Division III stalwart SUNY Cortland won with 87 points.

Jordan Dodson (Port Deposit, MD) led the women's side by closing in 25:03, fellow junior Crystal McCollum (Elkton, MD) stopped the clock in 26:23 and sophomore Chelby McCall (Chesapeake City, MD) finished in 30:23 over 6,000 meters. Sophomore Kayla Lucas (Port Deposit, MD) ran in 36:17 and sophomore Julianna Wasiluk (Lviv, Ukraine) closed in 44:11.

The women were 37th in what also was a very competitive field. Kutztown won the crown with 139 points.

Goldey-Beacom will compete Saturday at the Jack St. Clair Memorial at Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia.
