Men's Cross Country Earns 11th Place at Cathcart Invitational

Reich Leads Lightning With 18th Place Finish

SALISBURY, Md.
- Led by an 18th place and record-setting finish by junior Stewart Reich (Gov. Thomas Johnson H.S./Frederick, Md.), the Goldey-Beacom College men's cross country team finished in 11th place at the Don Cathcart Invitational at Winter Place Park on Saturday morning.

The Lightning scored 278 points to finish in 11th place out of 14 teams while Wilmington University won the meet by tallying 34 points as the Wildcats placed three runners in the top ten finishers.

Reich, who was the Lightning's top finisher for the fourth straight meet, completed the 8K race in a time of 26:39, breaking the school record by nine seconds that was set by Rob Netta in 2003 at the CACC Championships. Meanwhile, freshman Logan Jones (Tuscarora H.S./Frederick, Md.) earned 57th place with a time of 27:52.

Senior David Zartler (Perryville H.S./Perryville, Md.) completed the course in a time of 29:45 to earn 97th place while junior Hugo Morales (Walkersville H.S./Frederick, Md.) followed in 99th place with a time of 29:51.

Junior Jabari Chambers (Howard H.S./Wilmington, Del.) finished in 107th place after posting a time of 30:42 while freshman Ethan Burton (Red Lion Christian Academy/Middletown, Del.) had a time of 35:32 to finish in 130th place.

The Lightning will return to action next Friday, Oct. 5 to host the annual Goldey-Beacom College Fall Classic at Carousel Park. The women's race will start at 5 p.m. while the men's race starts at 5:35 p.m.
