PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Junior
Stewart Reich (Gov. Thomas Johnson H.S./Frederick, Md.) recorded his third consecutive top 10 finish by placing eighth to lead Goldey-Beacom College to a sixth place finish at the Philadelphia Metro Cross Country Championships at the Belmont Plateau on Saturday afternoon.
Led by Reich, the Lightning tallied 186 points in the meet while Wilmington University won the meet with a team score of 40 points. Felician College finished second with 41 points while host Philadelphia University was third with 56 points.
Reich finished the race with a time of 28:59 while freshman
Logan Jones (Tuscarora H.S./Frederick, Md.) earned a 21st place finish by completing the race in 31 minutes, 4 seconds.
Meanwhile, senior
David Zartler (Perryville H.S./Perryville, Md.) followed in 45th place with a time of 33:35 while junior
Hugo Morales (Walkersville H.S./Frederick, Md.) posted a time of 34:55 to finish in 55th place.
Junior
Jabari Chambers (Howard H.S./Wilmington, Del.) and freshman
Ethan Burton (Red Lion Christian Academy/Middletown, Del.) finished in 58th and 78th places, respectively.
The Lightning will compete at the Don Cathcart Invitational next Saturday at 9:45 a.m.
