VINELAND, N.J. – Led by junior
Stewart Reich (Gov. Thomas Johnson/Frederick, Md.), the Goldey-Beacom College men's cross country team finished in third place at the Dukes Invitational hosted by Cumberland County College on Saturday morning.
The reigning Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Runner of the Week, Reich posted a time of 16 minutes, 23 seconds in the 5K race while freshman
Logan Jones (Tuscarora H.S./Frederick, Md.) followed with a sixth place finish in his college debut, crossing the finish line with a time of 16:49.
Junior
Hugo Morales (Walkersville H.S./Frederick, Md.) posted a time of 18 minutes, 15 seconds to earn 20th place while senior
David Zartler (Perryville H.S./Perryville, Md.) earned 23rd place by completing the course in 18 minutes, 32 seconds.
Junior
Jabari Chambers (Howard H.S./Wilmington, Del.) contributed a 24th place finish with a time of 18:32 while sophomore
Angelo Melendez (Elmont Memorial H.S./Valley Stream, N.Y.) posted a time of 19:12 to finish in 27th place.
Freshman
Ethan Burton (Red Lion Christian Academy/Middletown, Del.) finished the race in a time of 21 minutes, 8 seconds to earn 39th place.
The Lightning will compete at the Philadelphia Metro Championship next Saturday at 12 p.m.
