PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Led by a 16th place finish from junior
Stewart Reich (Gov. Thomas Johnson H.S./Frederick, Md.), the Goldey-Beacom College men's cross country team earned seventh place at the 2012 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship Meet held at the Belmont Plateau on Sunday morning.
Reich, who was the Lightning's top finisher for the seventh straight meet, finished in a time of 29:15 as the Lightning scored 180 points. Wilmington University earned its first CACC men's cross country title after scoring 37 points.
Freshman
Logan Jones (Tuscarora H.S./Frederick, Md.) finished in 30th place with a time of 30:51 while junior
Hugo Morales (Walkersville H.S./Frederick, Md.) followed in 39th place by completing the 8K course in 31 minutes, 44 seconds.
Meanwhile, sophomore
Angelo Melendez (Elmont Memorial H.S./Valley Stream, N.Y.) turned in a time of 33:25 to earn 46th place while junior
David Zartler (Perryville H.S./Perryville, Md.) had a 49th place effort with a time of 34:23.
Junior
Jabari Chambers (Howard H.S./Wilmington, Del.) crossed the finish line in 50th place with a time of 34:53 while freshman
Ethan Burton (Red Lion Christian Academy/Middletown, Del.) was 59th with a time of 37:56.
The Lightning will compete in the MASC Championship on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Lums Pond State Park.    Â
