Fredrika Regner Picked to CACC Women’s Tennis Monthly Honor Roll

Goldey-Beacom freshman Fredrika Regner (Langaryd, Sweden) added to what already has been a solid campaign in being picked to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Tennis Monthly Honor Roll.

Regner got the honor after her incredible performances in March in which she went 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles. She opened with a pair of straight-set singles wins, dropping only seven games, before winning her match at Slippery Rock in a tiebreak. She also went 2-1 in doubles with an 8-1 triumph over Millersville, becoming the College's single-season leader in doubles victories, and an 8-3 win at Slippery Rock.

Regner is an impressive 17-3 in doubles this season and 13-3 in singles with only two of those wins extended to a third set.

Regner, the CACC Rookie of the Year, earlier this season was ranked 35th in the country for doubles with sophomore Anna Hortelano Pey (Castelldefels, Spain) and the two presently are sixth in the East Region.

Goldey-Beacom (14-1, 8-0 CACC) defeated Wilmington (DE), 5-3, on October 22 for its second consecutive league crown and seventh trip to the NCAA Tournament. The squad was the top seed in the CACC Tournament for the second straight year, has won 17 consecutive regular-season league matches dating to 2015, appeared in the conference final in back-to-back years for the first time since going three straight seasons from 2009-11 and notched its best start in team history at 12-0.

GBC, which was ranked 43rd in the previous national rankings, on Friday travels to No. 35 Queens (NY) for a 1:00 pm match in Flushing, NY.
