A week which featured a pair of doubleheader sweeps for Goldey-Beacom was more than good enough to see four basketball players receive weekly awards from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

Lexi Bruno (Millville, NJ) was named the Women's Basketball Player of the Week for a second time this season, fellow sophomore Britani Bryson (Hampton, VA) was picked to the Weekly Honor Roll a fourth time this season, Corey Taite (Sayreville, NJ) was tabbed Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week a third time and junior Elijah Tillman (Garnerville, NY) made the Weekly Honor Roll for the third time.

Bruno went on a tear last week, averaging 26.0 points, 5.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 steals over two games to go with eight 3-pointers.  She opened things with 24 points, seven assists, five 3-pointers and three rebounds Wednesday at Felician.  Bruno then had a season-high 28 points – two shy her career best – six rebounds, six steals, four assists and three 3-pointers Saturday at Post.

Bruno, who also has been named to the Honor Roll three times this season, continues to climb the school's record books.  She is 11th in school history with 757 career points, fourth with 108 three-pointers and fifth with 231 assists.  The 2015 CACC Rookie of the Year also is fourth in the country with 607 minutes played, 11th with 109 baskets, 15th with 43 made 3-pointers, 13th with 85 assists, 28th with a 2.30 assist-to-turnover ratio, 60th with 2.53 assists per game, 65th with 17.1 points per contest and 68th with 2.35 steals per game.

Bryson, who has become one of the league's dominant post players, closed with 10.0 rebounds per game and 1.0 blocks per contest over two games.  She had 10 rebounds and one block Wednesday at Felician in her team's 81-73 win and the same numbers Saturday in a 66-60 triumph at Post.

The league's Player of the Week from December 21 is sixth in the country with 178 rebounds, 14th with 556 minutes played, tied for 22nd with seven double-doubles, 23rd with 10.5 rebounds per game, 43rd with 91 baskets and 65th with 17.1 points per contest.  She also is tied for eighth in school history with 54 career blocks.

Taite averaged 16.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.3 steals and went 18-for-20 from the line over three games.  He closed with 15 points Monday in a tough loss to regionally ranked Adelphi, 20 points, six assists, six rebounds and four steals Wednesday in an 84-53 win at Felician, and 13 points and six rebounds Saturday in a 68-61 victory at Post.

Taite, picked Rookie of the Week a second consecutive week, has been a presence for the Lightning since the start of the campaign and also is among the NCAA leaders.  He is 14th with 33 steals, 46th with 2.06 steals per game, 89th with 64 free throws, 74th with 501 minutes played, 16th in the CACC with 14.3 points per contest and ninth with a .780 free throw percentage.

Tillman closed with 15.7 points per game on 20-of-28 shooting, 8.3 rebounds per contest and a clutch jumper in the finale of his three games last week.  Tillman came through Saturday at Post, hitting a short leaner with 38 seconds left to give GBC a five-point lead en route to the victory.  He ended that game with 18 points and 10 rebounds after getting 15 and nine Monday vs. Adelphi, and 14 and 16 Wednesday at Felician.

Tillman is 11th in the nation with 151 total rebounds, 28th with 9.4 rebounds per game, 37th with 27 blocks, 56th with 1.69 blocks per contest and 32nd in the CACC with 11.3 points per game.  His 27 blocks already are 10th best in school history.
