Lexi Bruno Named CACC Rookie of the Week a Fourth Time; Lillian Chukwueze Picked to Honor Roll

Lexi Bruno (Millville, NJ), who had an incredible record-setting week for Goldey-Beacom, was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for a fourth time and senior Lillian Chukwueze (Cherry Hill, NJ) was picked to the Weekly Honor Roll.

Bruno averaged 23.5 points, 7.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals with six 3-pointers over two games last week. She did everything she could Saturday in the conference quarterfinals at Caldwell, ending with 30 points, six rebounds, five assists and four 3-pointers in GBC's tough 87-85 overtime loss. This came after she had 17 points, 10 assists, four rebounds and two 3-pointers Tuesday in her squad's 82-73 victory at Philadelphia U.

In Saturday's contest, Bruno became the school's single-season leader in 3-pointers and ended the campaign with 65. In Tuesday's game, she became GBC's single-season leader in assists and finished the season with 146.

Bruno's week also included her being named the league's Rookie of the Year and second team All-CACC. She is 25th in the country with a 2.0 assist-to-turnover ratio, 26th with 5.0 assists per game, 52nd with a .380 three-point percentage, sixth in the CACC with 16.1 points per game, 10th with 1.8 steals per game and 20th with a .423 shooting percentage. Bruno also has been named to the league's Weekly Honor Roll four times this season.

Chukwueze averaged 19.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals over two games. She had 18 points, 10 rebounds and four assists Tuesday before adding 20 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and two steals Saturday.

Chukwueze, named first team All-CACC and January's CACC Student-Athlete of the Month, was picked to the Weekly Honor Roll for the fifth time this season. She is eighth in the CACC with 15.7 points per game, 11th with 7.9 rebounds per contest, 24th with a .405 shooting percentage and 12th with 1.7 steals per game.

She ends her two-year career at GBC eighth with 904 career points, seventh with 72 three-pointers and just outside the top 10 with 446 rebounds.

The Lightning (13-16, 12-7 CACC) had a tremendous campaign while playing a challenging schedule and qualified for the CACC Tournament a sixth straight year. The future is bright for Goldey-Beacom as 74 percent of the scoring and 65 percent of the rebounds are represented by the freshmen and sophomores.
