Lexi Bruno and Lillian Chukwueze Once Again Make the CACC Weekly Honor Roll

Standout seasons for Goldey-Beacom freshman Lexi Bruno (Millville, NJ) and senior Lillian Chukwueze (Cherry Hill, NJ) today got even better as each were picked to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll.

Bruno averaged 20.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists over two games last week with eight 3-pointers. She scored 21 points to go with seven rebounds, six assists, four 3-pointers and two steals Wednesday in GBC's 91-67 victory over Wilmington. She then had 19 points, six rebounds, five assists, four 3-pointers and a steal Saturday at Dominican.

One of the leading candidates in the race for CACC Rookie of the Year, Bruno is 30th in the country with 4.9 assists per game, 30th with a 1.89 assist-to-turnover ratio, 51st with a .393 three-point percentage, seventh in the league with 15.6 points per game, 20th a .422 shooting percentage and 10th with 1.8 steals per contest.

Bruno now has 131 assists, only seven off of the single-season school record set two years ago by Devonne Richardson. Bruno also has 59 three-pointers, just five off the GBC single-season mark set in 2013 by Jacinda Jones. She also has scored 420 points for the seventh-best mark in team annals.

It is Bruno's seventh citation from the league this season and fourth Honor Roll pick. She has been named the league's Rookie of the Week three times.

Chukwueze averaged 9.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals over two contests. She had 10 rebounds and three steals Wednesday against Wilmington before getting nine rebounds and three steals Saturday at Dominican.

Also in the midst of a great stretch, Chukwueze is eighth in the league with 15.4 points per game, 13th with 7.8 rebounds per contest and 14th with 3.0 assists per game. She is eighth in school history with 866 points, tied for seventh with 68 three-pointers and just outside the top 10 with 426 rebounds.

It is Chukwueze's fourth selection to the Weekly Honor Roll this season and sixth in her career.

GBC (12-15, 11-7 CACC) now is locked into the fourth seed out of the South Division and will face either Bloomfield or Caldwell in the CACC Tournament quarterfinals on Saturday at 2:00 pm. The latter two schools battle each other Tuesday at Caldwell with the North Division's top seed at stake.

Before that, Goldey-Beacom ends the regular season Tuesday at Philadelphia University as part of a doubleheader with the men's team. Game time is 6:00 pm, which precedes the men's 8:00 pm contest.
