NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Senior outside hitter
Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa.) of the Goldey-Beacom College volleyball team has been named as an honorable mention selection for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Week award for the week ending Sept. 7, it has been announced by CACC officials.
In four matches last weekend at the Millersville University Marauder Clash, McCoy tallied 56 kills, including the 1,000th of her college career, along with 24 digs. After posting nine kills in the tournament opener against Millersville on Friday, she reached the 1,000-kill plateau in the Lightning's five-set victory over Shippensburg by tallying 21 kills.
McCoy also had 17 kills with 13 digs against Virginia Union on Saturday before ending the tournament with nine kills against Stonehill.
The first player in Goldey-Beacom College volleyball history to record 1,000 kills in her career, McCoy now has 1,041 kills in her career after a 13-kill effort on Tuesday night against Bowie State.
Led by McCoy, the Lightning will open their CACC schedule on Thursday night by traveling to Georgian Court University for a 7 p.m. match against the Lions.
