NEW HAVEN, Conn.
– Junior guard Lillian Chukwueze (Cherry Hill East H.S./Cherry Hill, N.J.) and senior forward Briana Richmond-Peters (Brimm Medical Arts H.S./Camden, N.J.) of Goldey-Beacom College have been named as members of the 2013-14 All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Teams, it has been announced by CACC officials.

In a vote of the league's 14 head coaches, Chukwueze earned second team All-CACC notice while Richmond-Peters was an honorable mention selection.

A starter in all 27 games for Coach Bethann Burke, Chukwueze was the Lightning's leading scorer and ranks eighth in the CACC with a 15.2 average. She also ranked second on the team by grabbing 7.7 rebounds per game while posting a team-high 44 steals.

After transferring from Rutgers-Camden, Chukwueze scored in double figures in 23 of the Lightning's 27 games, including seven 20-point efforts. She led the Lightning to a win at Georgian Court on Nov. 26 when she scored a season-high 28 points, making 10 of 20 field goal attempts, including a 3-for-6 performance from three-point range.

In addition, Chukwueze led the Lightning to a win over two-time defending CACC champion Holy Family on Feb. 5 by scoring 23 points with eight rebounds and four assists.

A two-time honorable mention selection for the CACC's weekly awards, Chukwueze contributed five "double double" efforts, including a 15-point, 18-rebound showing against Holy Family on Jan. 8 at the Joseph West Jones College Center.

With 411 points this season, Chukwueze ranks sixth on the Lightning's all-time single-season scoring list.

"Lillian is one of our hardest workers," Burke said. "She was voted as a tri-captain of our team in her first year at Goldey-Beacom and has been a leader not only on the court, but off the court as well. She carried us offensively through much of the season and always accepted any task the coaching staff asked her to do."

A four-year letter winner for the Lightning, Richmond-Peters enjoyed her best season as a senior. The Lightning's leading rebounder with a 9.9 average, she also ranked second on the team by scoring 11.0 points per game while starting all 27 contests. With a 9.9 average, she ranks fourth in the CACC in rebounding.

After being honored as the lone senior on Senior Night on Feb. 25, Richmond-Peters scored a career-high 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Lightning earned a 76-58 victory over CACC South Division champion Philadelphia University. She also scored 21 points with 12 rebounds at Bloomsburg on Dec. 1, marking the first "double double" of her college career.

In the Lightning's win over Georgian Court on Jan. 28, Richmond-Peters grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds while scoring 12 points.

A three-time honorable mention selection, Richmond-Peters led the Lightning with six "double double" games, including a "double double" in each of her final four games.

With 266 rebounds in 27 games this season, Richmond-Peters ranks fourth on the Lightning's all-time single-season list while her 9.9 rebound per game average is the fifth-highest mark in school history.

Richmond-Peters finished her career ranked eighth in school history with 547 career rebounds and also contributed 532 points. By playing in 108 career games, she also ranks ninth on the Lightning's all-time list.

According to Coach Burke, "Briana was the glue to our team this season. For us to be successful, she had to be on the floor. Briana was also voted as a tri-captain this season led by example. I am very happy for Briana to finish her collegiate career with the year she had. No one deserves this more than her."

Led by Chukwueze and Richmond-Peters, the Lightning posted a 13-14 overall record and a 10-9 CACC mark. They also qualified for the CACC Tournament for the fifth straight season before dropping a 61-52 decision at Bloomfield in the quarterfinals on Mar. 1.
