2013 USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic Cross Country Team
NEW ORLEANS, La. - Senior
Stewart Reich (Gov. Thomas Johnson H.S./Frederick, Md.) of Goldey-Beacom College has been named as a member of the 2013-14 U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II All-Academic Cross Country Team, it has been announced by USTFCCCA officials.
Reich was one of 212 Division II student-athletes to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors for the 2013 cross country season. Honorees must have compiled a cumulative GPA or 3.25 or greater and must have finished among the top 30 percent of total eligible runners at his regional championship (total Division II teams in the region multiplied by seven runners per team) or in the top half of the field at the NCAA Championships.
An All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference selection, Reich led the Lightning to a fourth place effort at the CACC Championship in October after posting a 12th place finish. In addition, he helped Goldey-Beacom earn its highest finish in school history at the NCAA Division II East Regional Championship with a 45th place showing.
As a senior, Reich earned a top 10 finish in six races, including a pair of first place efforts at the Goldey-Beacom College Fall Classic on Oct. 5 and the College of Staten Island Invitational on Oct. 12. He also earned a second place finish at the Baruch College Invitational and turned in a third place performance at the Philadelphia Metro Classic.
In his career, Reich competed in all 34 meets for Coach
Brian Conley and earned a top 10 finish in 17 of those events.
