A solid week of basketball for Goldey-Beacom's women's squad was rewarded with three student-athletes earning weekly awards from the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

Freshman Lexi Bruno (Millville, NJ) was named the league's Rookie of the Week for the second time this year, fellow freshman Britani Bryson (Hampton, VA) was picked Co-Defensive Player of the Week and senior Lillian Chukwueze (Cherry Hill, NJ) was tabbed to the Honor Roll a second straight week.

Bruno averaged 16.7 points on 46 percent shooting (16-of-36), grabbed 7.3 rebounds per contest, dished 6.3 assists per game and added four steals over three contests.  She had 20 points and 10 assists Monday in the squad's 90-87 win over Lincoln (PA) before getting 10 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two steals in a huge 72-50 triumph Wednesday at Chestnut Hill.  Bruno, sitting sixth with 3.7 assists per game and ninth with a .390 three-point percentage, then had 20 points and six rebounds Sunday in a tough 75-65 setback to Philadelphia U.

Bryson, last week's CACC Rookie of the Week, averaged 7.3 rebounds over three games and got six blocked shots.  She had 11 rebounds and two blocks at Chestnut Hill to go with seven rebounds and two blocks vs. Philadelphia U.  Bryson now is tied for eighth in the league with 1.0 blocks per contest.

Chukwueze closed last week by averaging 20.3 points and 7.7 rebounds over three games, shot 50 percent (23-of-46) from the field and came up with some clutch baskets.  Against Lincoln, she canned the tying 3-pointer with 1:55 left and then hit the go-ahead free throws with 28 seconds to go.  She came back with 32 points, two short of her career high, on 13-of-18 shooting at Chestnut Hill.  Chukwueze, who is seventh in the league with 14.8 points per game and ninth with 7.7 rebounds per contest, ended the week with 11 points and eight rebounds against Philadelphia U.

The Lightning (4-9, 3-2 CACC) are on a roll with victories in four of their last seven contests and sit fourth in the league's South Division.  They return to action New Year's Eve at Millersville, starting at 1:00 pm.
