New Haven, Conn.- Â The duo of
Fernando Sanchez (Madrid, Spain) and
Luiz Ristow (Joinville, Brazil) have been awarded Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference all-conference honors for the 2014 season, it has been announced by Commissioner Dan Mara.
Sanchez was honored as the Rookie of the Year after an impressive 2014 campaign which saw him tally seven goals and five assists this season. Sanchez opened the season by scoring once in each of the first two matches, and then capped the regular season by scoring in three straight games. He struck home the game-winner in a 2-1 triumph at Nyack on Sept. 27. Â
Ristow was named first team all-CACC after a potent offensive season where he found the back of the net, a league leading, 16 times and also notched six assists on the year. Ristow also led the CACC in points with 38 and in total shots (96). Ristow tallied two or more goals four times this season which was highlighted by his first "hat-trick" of his GBC career on Oct. 28 against Holy Family. Â
