New Haven, Conn.- Senior outside hitter
Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa) of the Lightning women's volleyball team has been named to the All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Second Team for her efforts during the 2014 season, it has been announced by CACC officials.
McCoy, a four year letter winner for head coach
Richard Bowers, led the Lightning offensively this season posting 4.15 kills per set and 440 total kills, both of which put her in second place in the CACC.
McCoy posted 10 or more kills in 22 of the 30 contests for the Lightning. She also led the Lightning by posting 10 "double doubles" this season. With her 440 kills, McCoy broke the record for the most kills in a single season. The record of 401 set by Ashley Carberry, stood for nine seasons before McCoy broke the record in a four set win over Wilmington University on Oct. 30.
A four time weekly honoree for the CACC this season, McCoy finished her career as the Lightning's all time kill leader with 1,412 kills. A record that could stand firm for quite some time, as no one on the current roster is in the top ten. Â Â
