NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Freshman
Chandler Brooks (Bohemia Manor H.S./Warwick, Md.) of Goldey-Beacom College has been named as the recipient of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's cross country Rookie of the Week award for the week ending Oct. 5, it has been announced by CACC officials.
In addition, junior
Logan Jones (Tuscarora H.S./Frederick, Md.) earned an honorable mention selection for the CACC Runner of the Week award.
Brooks helped the Lightning claim the team title at the Goldey-Beacom College Fall Classic for the second year in a row. He crossed the 8K finish line in a time of 29 minutes, 9 seconds to earn a fifth place finish out of 72 competitors.
Meanwhile, Jones finished in third place at the GBC Fall Classic on Saturday by completing the course in a time of 28:13.
Led by Brooks and Jones, the Lightning will compete at the Jack St. Clair Memorial Race in Philadelphia on Saturday, Oct. 11.
