Correia Nabs CACC Honorable Mention Notice

Correia Earns CACC Honorable Mention Notice


New Haven, Conn.- Senior Filipa Correia (Liceu S. Joao do Estoril /Monte Estoril, Portugal) received Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference honorable mention notice for the week ending Oct. 20, it has been announced by CACC officials.

In a 9-0 defeat of Post University, Correia posted a 2-0 week for the lightning racking up a 6-0, 6-0 win at number three singles, and an 8-0 win at number one doubles with playing partner Laura Moreno on Friday afternoon versus Post university.

With her 41st doubles win, Correia moved into a tie for second place in GBC history.

The Lightning will look to continue their season long success when the travel to Chestnut Hill College this Saturday for a CACC semi-final match. Their opponent has yet to be determined at this time.
