Honored as the CACC Player of the Week for the second time this season, Smith shared the honor with senior forward

"This is a tremendous honor for Alex and I couldn't be more proud of her accomplishments," Goldey-Beacom Coach

In leading the Lightning to a 1-0-1 record last week, Smith scored three goals while becoming the all-time leading goal scorer in Goldey-Beacom College women's soccer history. After tallying a goal in the Lightning's 5-0 victory over Chowan on Tuesday, she scored two goals in the first half of the Lightning's 4-4 double overtime draw against Felician on Sunday afternoon.
During the tie against the Golden Falcons, Smith gave the Lightning a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute after converting a pass from sophomore midfielder
Jane Grimley (Delsea Regional H.S./Franklinville, N.J.). Just over 12 minutes later, she scored the record-setting goal with a shot off the right goal post after getting past two Felician defenders.
Smith, who ranks second in the CACC with 10 goals and 20 points this season, now has 31 goals in her college career, which breaks the previous school record of 30 goals set by
Lori Knabb from 2002 to 2005. She also ranks 14th in NCAA Division II in total goals scored through matches of Oct. 12.
