NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Junior
Stephanie Puentes Robinson (Bogota, Colombia) of Goldey-Beacom College has been named as the recipient of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week award for the week ending Sept. 15, it has been announced by CACC officials.
It is the second straight week Puentes Robinson has been selected as the CACC's Player of the Week.
In leading the Lightning to a 9-0 victory at Post University on Friday afternoon, Puentes Robinson claimed a pair of victories. After earning an 8-0 triumph at number two doubles, the two-time reigning CACC Player of the Year posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory at number one singles.
Puentes Robinson, who has posted a 33-6 career singles record, has won 10 of her last 11 singles matches dating back to last season, including six in a row. She ranks fifth in Goldey-Beacom history with 33 singles wins while her .846 career winning percentage in singles matches is the second-highest in Lightning women's tennis history.
The Lightning, who are off to a 2-0 start for the sixth consecutive year, will resume their CACC schedule on Wednesday, Sept. 18 when they host Holy Family University in a 4 p.m. match at the Delcastle Tennis Center.
