Senior Guard Has Overcome Knee Injuries to Become One of GBC's All-Time Leading Scorers

Jacinda Jones is the third-leading scorer in school history with 1,410 career points.

WILMINGTON, Del. - Senior guard Jacinda Jones (Concord H.S./Claymont, Del.) of the Goldey-Beacom College women's basketball team was profiled in the Thursday morning edition of the Wilmington News Journal.

A sixth-year senior, Jones has overcome three knee injuries in her basketball career, including two during her time at Goldey-Beacom, to become one of the Lightning's all-time leading scorers and the top three-point field goal shooter in school history.

The article, written by Jonathan Marshall, takes a look at Jones' career and how she has battled back through those injuries.

Led by Jones, the Lightning will open play at the 2013 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Basketball Championship on Saturday, Mar. 2 by hosting Post University in a quarterfinal game at the Joseph West Jones College Center. Opening tip-off is set for 2 p.m. A Goldey-Beacom victory would give the Lightning the first 20-win season in school history.
