WILMINGTON, Del. – After setting a school record by earning 16 wins during its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference season, the Goldey-Beacom College women's basketball team will host Post University in a CACC quarterfinal game at the Joseph West Jones College Center on Saturday, Mar. 2 at 2 p.m.
Ticket prices for the quarterfinal will be announced at a later date.
Currently 19-9 on the season, the Lightning finished in second place in the CACC South Division after posting a 16-3 CACC record. They had a school-record nine-game win streak snapped on Saturday afternoon with a tough 69-58 loss against No. 6 Holy Family in the regular season for both teams.

Irene Hudson (Corcoran H.S./Syracuse, N.Y.) led the Lightning against the defending CACC champion Tigers on Saturday by scoring 14 points with eight rebounds. Meanwhile, senior guard
Devonne Richardson (Milford Mill Academy/Baltimore, Md.) added six points with a game-high 11 rebounds while senior guard
Ashley Rosario (Harry S. Truman H.S./Levittown, Pa.) tallied 11 points with five rebounds.
Hudson, who also ranks second on the team by averaging 6.8 rebounds per game, is one of two Goldey-Beacom players who are averaging 10 or more points per game. Richardson, who is the Lightning's leading rebounder with a 9.2 average, is also scoring 11.8 points per game and has a school-record 121 assists in 26 games.
After dropping their regular season finale against the University of the Sciences on Thursday night, the Eagles will bring an 11-15 overall record into Saturday's game against the Lightning. In addition, they will be looking to rebound from a two-game losing streak to end the regular season.
Sophomore
Jacquelyne Pugh (Grahamsville, N.Y.) led four Post players in double figures on Thursday night with 16 points while junior
Aubrey Latham (Mystic, Conn.) added 13 points with four rebounds and three steals. In addition, graduate student
Monique Chance (Brooklyn, N.Y.) tallied 12 points with five rebounds.
The fifth-leading scorer in the CACC with a 17.2 point per game average, Latham has played in 24 of 26 games this season. She has scored in double figures in 12 consecutive games, including six efforts of 20 or more points. In the Eagles' 70-59 win over Concordia on Nov. 20, she scored a season-high 30 points.
Meanwhile, Chance is contributing 9.6 points per game while grabbing a team-high 10.4 rebounds per contest.
The Lightning and the Eagles will be meeting for the 17th time in a series that Goldey-Beacom leads by a 10-6 margin. In addition, the Lightning have won six straight games in the series after a 68-45 victory over the Eagles at the Jones Center on Jan. 26.
Richardson led the Lightning to the victory by recording the first “triple double” in school history after scoring 14 points with 11 rebounds and a career-high 12 assists. Meanwhile, Hudson added 13 points with eight rebounds as the Lightning led for a majority of the game.
The winner of the quarterfinal game between the Lightning and the Eagles will face either Philadelphia University or Caldwell in the semifinals on Friday, Mar. 8 at the University of the Sciences.
