Lillian Chukwueze (Cherry Hill East H.S./Cherry Hill, N.J.) has been named as an honorable mention selection for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference weekly awards for the week ending Dec. 8, it has been announced by CACC officials.
It is the first time Chukwueze has been recognized by the CACC this season. In addition, it marks the second straight week a Lightning player has received honorable mention recognition after senior forward
Briana Richmond-Peters (Brimm Medical Arts H.S./Camden, N.J.) earned the distinction on Dec. 2.
In guiding the Lightning to a 71-53 win over the Clippers on Saturday, Chukwueze recorded her second "double double" of the season by scoring a team-high 17 points with a game-high 12 rebounds. She tallied 10 of her 17 points in the first half as the Lightning built an early lead en route to their fourth win in the last five games.
The Lightning's leading scorer with a 14.9 average, Chukwueze ranks 11th in the CACC. She is also 10th in the conference by grabbing 8.4 rebounds per outing.
Chukwueze and the Lightning will host Adelphi University in a non-conference game at the Joseph West Jones College Center on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. before visiting Shaw University on Saturday, Dec. 14.
