NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Junior guard
Kyle Steinbergin (Teaneck H.S./Englewood, N.J.) of Goldey-Beacom College has been named as an honorable mention selection for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's basketball weekly awards for the week ending Dec. 1, it has been announced by CACC officials.
It is the first time Steinbergin has been recognized by the CACC in his career.
In leading the Lightning to an 85-73 victory over Georgian Court on Tuesday evening, Steinbergin scored a career-high 26 points with seven rebounds and four assists. He made 7 of 16 shots from the floor, including a 7-for-12 effort from beyond the arc, and also converted five of six free throws.
The Lightning's leading scorer with a 13.3 average, Steinbergin has started all six games for Coach
Chuck Hammond this season. He has made 20 of 48 three-point field goal attempts and is tied for the team lead with seven steals.
Led by Steinbergin, the Lightning will try to extend their two-game win streak on Saturday, Dec. 7 when they host Concordia in a CACC match-up at the Joseph West Jones College Center at 3 p.m.
