Andre Jank Earns Honorable Mention All-CACC Notice

Lightning Also Receive Team Sportsmanship Award



NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Senior midfielder Andre Jank (Campo Grande, Brazil) of Goldey-Beacom College has been named as an honorable mention selection on the 2013 All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's soccer team, it has been announced by CACC officials.

In addition, the Lightning earned the CACC Team Sportsmanship Award for the fourth consecutive season.

One of three players to start in all 18 games this season, Jank was the Lightning's leading scorer with eight goals and one assist. With 17 points, he ranks eighth in the CACC while his eight goals are tied for sixth in the CACC.

After scoring a goal in the season opener against Shippensburg, he led the Lightning to a 4-3 victory over the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown by scoring two goals. Jank also guided the Lightning to a 2-0 CACC victory over Nyack on Sept. 28 when he scored in the 63rd minute.

Jank, who scored a goal in four of the Lightning's last six matches, tallied the team's lone goal in a 2-1 loss against Felician on Oct. 12 while also scoring a goal against Bloomfield, Concordia and Holy Family.

A three-year starter for the Lightning, Jank started 56 of 58 matches in his career. He finished his career ranked fifth in school history with 16 goals and sixth in school history with 36 career points.

Jank is the first player to earn All-CACC notice since 2009 when Angel Rodriguez was a second team selection.
