Stewart Reich, Aaron Easter Earn All-CACC Notice

Duo Led Lightning to Best Finish at Conference Meet Since 2005

Stewart Reich was one of two GBC student-athletes to earn a spot on the All-CACC men's cross country team.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - After leading Goldey-Beacom College to a fourth place finish at the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship, senior Stewart Reich (Gov. Thomas Johnson H.S./Frederick, Md.) and sophomore Aaron Easter (Rising Sun H.S./Elkton, Md.) have been named as selections to the 2013 All-CACC Men's Cross Country Team, it has been announced by CACC officials.

The All-CACC team consists of the top 15 runners at the annual conference meet, which was held at the Belmont Plateau on Sunday afternoon.

Reich (top right) earned All-CACC honors for the first time in his college career after finishing in 12th place at the CACC Championship with a time of 28 minutes, 17 seconds. It marked the seventh time in eight races this year Reich has been the Lightning's top finisher and also marked his highest finish at the CACC meet in his career.

A four-year letter winner for Coach Brian Conley, Reich has posted a top 10 finish six times as a senior, including a pair of first place efforts at the Goldey-Beacom College Fall Classic on Oct. 5 and the College of Staten Island Invitational on Oct. 12. He was named as the CACC Runner of the Week on Sept. 30 and also earned CACC Honor Roll distinction five times.

Meanwhile, Easter (bottom right) turned in a 13th place effort at the CACC Championship on Sunday by completing the 8K course in a time of 28 minutes, 24 seconds.

A first-year member of the Lightning cross country team, Easter has posted a pair of top 10 finishes this season. He earned a fifth place showing at the College of Staten Island Invitational on Oct. 12 while contributing a seventh place effort at the Baruch Invitational in the season opener on Sept. 8.

Easter also posted an 11th place finish at the Goldey-Beacom College Fall Classic on Oct. 5 while helping the Lightning claim the team title.

Reich and Easter are the first Goldey-Beacom student-athletes to be named to the All-CACC men's cross country team since 2007 when Soufiane Sadikina finished in 10th place at the CACC Championship.

Led by Reich and Easter, the Lightning posted their best finish at the CACC Championship since 2005 when they finished in second place. They will finish the 2013 season on Sunday, Nov. 10 at the NCAA Division II East Regional Championship at Franklin Park.
