PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Freshman
Maria Angeles Victoria Martinez (Totana, Spain) of the Goldey-Beacom College women's tennis team has been named as a selection to the 2013 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference All-Tournament Team, it has been announced by CACC officials.
The selections were announced following the CACC Championship Match on Sunday afternoon as Concordia College earned its fifth straight conference title with a 5-4 come-from-behind victory over Chestnut Hill.
An honorable mention All-CACC selection, Victoria Martinez earned a pair of victories in the match to lead the Lightning in their 5-4 loss against Concordia in the semifinals on Saturday afternoon. She posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory at number three singles after teaming with junior
Stephanie Puentes Robinson (Bogota, Colombia) for an 8-3 triumph at number two doubles.
One of three freshmen on the Goldey-Beacom roster, Victoria Martinez has posted a 6-4 singles record this year while compiling an 8-3 doubles mark.
Now 7-3 on the season, the Lightning will finish their Fall schedule on Tuesday, Oct. 22 when they visit the New York Institute of Technology for a 3 p.m. non-conference match.
