Reich, Williams Honored by CACC

Duo Led Lightning in Season-Opening Meet at Baruch Invite

NEW HAVEN, Conn.
– Junior Stewart Reich (Gov. Thomas Johnson H.S./Frederick, Md.) of Goldey-Beacom College has been named as the recipient of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week award for the week ending Sept. 10, it has been announced by CACC officials.

In addition, senior Elizabeth Williams of the Lightning women's cross country team has been named as an honorable mention selection for CACC Runner of the Week honors.

Reich led the Lightning to a second place finish at the Baruch College Invitational on Sunday morning at Van Cortlandt Park. He won the individual title by posting a time of 28 minutes, 32 seconds, which was over a minute faster than the second place finisher.

It marked the third individual championship in Reich's career. He won the Dukes Invitational last year after claiming first place at the Queensborough College Invite as a freshman.

Meanwhile, Williams placed sixth out of 72 runners at the Baruch College Invite by posting a time of 29:23 as the Lightning finished in sixth place out of nine teams.

Led by Reich and Williams, the Lightning will compete in the Cumberland County Meet on Saturday morning.
