CACC Weekly Volleyball Report: Sept. 12, 2012
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Sophomore outside hitter
Kadi McCoy (Dallastown H.S./Dallastown, Pa.) of the Goldey-Beacom College volleyball team has been named as an honorable mention selection for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference weekly awards for the week ending Sept. 10, it has been announced by CACC officials.
It marks the second straight week she has been named as an honorable mention selection for the CACC's weekly awards.
McCoy led the Lightning to a split of two non-conference home matches on Saturday afternoon. After posting a season-high 15 digs with nine kills in the Lightning's three-set loss against UMass-Lowell, McCoy posted her first "double double" of the season with 19 kills and 11 digs as the Lightning earned a four-set victory over Bowie State. It was also the 10th "double double" of McCoy's career.
An honorable mention All-CACC selection last year, McCoy leads the CACC by averaging 3.20 kills per set. In addition, she is tied for fourth place in the CACC by averaging 0.55 service aces per set after recording three service aces against UMass-Lowell on Saturday.
Led by McCoy, the Lightning will open their CACC slate on Tuesday night when they host Georgian Court at the Joseph West Jones College Center at 7 p.m.
