CACC Women's Soccer Weekly Report: Oct. 9, 2012
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Freshman forward
Tiffany Kelly (Parsippany H.S./Parsippany, N.J.) of the Goldey-Beacom College women's soccer team has been named as an honorable mention selection for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference weekly awards for the week ending Oct. 7, it has been announced by CACC officials.
It marks the second straight week that Kelly has been recognized by the CACC after earning the Rookie of the Week award last week.
The Lightning's leading scorer with five goals and two assists, Kelly recorded the first multi-goal effort of her college career by scoring twice in the Lightning's 3-0 win over Lincoln (Pa.) on Wednesday afternoon. After giving Goldey-Beacom a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute on a penalty kick, Kelly added her second goal just over seven minutes into the second half for a 2-0 advantage.
Led by Kelly, the Lightning have won three of their last five matches after opening the season with seven straight losses.
