NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Freshman
Logan Jones (Tuscarora H.S./Frederick, Md.) of Goldey-Beacom College has been named as the recipient of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference men's cross country Rookie of the Week award for the week ending Oct. 14, it has been announced by CACC officials.
It is the first time that Jones has been honored by the CACC in his career.
Jones was the Lightning's second-fastest runner at the University of Delaware Blue and Gold Meet on Friday afternoon, posting a time of 27:35 to earn 21st place. It marked the fastest 8K time of the season for Jones, who also had a sixth place effort at the Dukes Invitational on Sept. 15.
Led by Jones, the Lightning will compete at the 2012 CACC Championships on Sunday, Oct. 21 at the Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia.
