BEAR, Del. – Katrina Swank, a two-time Delaware softball state champion at Caravel Academy, has committed to play softball at Goldey-Beacom College, it was announced Mon., July 5 by head coach Bill Streets.
“I think she'll be an excellent addition to the ball club,” Streets said. “I had the opportunity to see her play, and I'm looking for instant dividends. She comes from an excellent high school program, so she knows what winning is all about.”
Swank played four years of varsity softball and captained both the softball and girl's basketball teams her senior year. A versatile player, she hits for average and plays infield and outfield positions. She was selected a Blue/Gold All-Star for her performance this past Spring.
Academically, Swank was an honor student and a member of Caravel's Relay for Life and Blue/Gold Committee.
