PIKE CREEK, Del. – The Goldey-Beacom College men's cross country team has added two recruits, head coach Brian Conley announced Tues., July 20.
Daryl Roberts and Brandon Turner have each committed to Goldey-Beacom and will join the Lightning cross country team in the Fall 2010.
Daryl Roberts
- Received the Minds in Motion Award for the Fall and Spring of senior season.
- Earned Athletic Honor Roll Fall 2009.
- Won the “Song in my Heart” Scholarship (given to one student from anonymous donor who saw something special in person they chose).
- Member of the Future Business Leaders of America club for three years.
o Placed first in the Regional Conference during his junior year in the category of Impromptu Speaking.
o Helped team win first place at the Regional Conference in the Entrepreneurship category and take third at States.
- Took fourth place in the 100m dash at the county meet with a time of 11.79.
- Personal-best in the 100m was 11.55.
- Qualified for regionals in the 200 with a time of 24.8 – good for second at Aberdeen HS meet.
- Ran a 23.6 200m at regional meet.
