Witzke, Rice Earn All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Honors

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Two Goldey-Beacom College softball players earned All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference honors.

Senior Catcher Lauren Witzke was named to the All-CACC First Team while sophomore designated player Danielle Rice was named to the All-CACC Second Team. The voting was done by the league’s 13 head coaches. 

Witzke, a Laurel, Del. native who earned second team honors last season, finished her senior season leading the Lightning in runs scored (24), hits (47), doubles (7), triples (2) and stolen bases (16).  Her 16 stolen bases placed her second in the conference.  She also finished second on the team in bating average (.362).

Rice, a Mulica Hill, NJ. native, had a very impressive sophomore season.  She led the team in batting average (.394), home runs (7), slugging percentage (.667), total bases (66), runs batted in (40) and walks (25).  She finished fourth in the conference in batting average and sixth in runs batted in.
