INDIANAPOLIS - Goldey-Beacom College will be one of four teams plus two individuals to represent the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) at the 2010 NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Region Golf Tournament held May 3-5 at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, W.Va. The Lightning earned a No. 9 seed out of the East Region.
Wilmington University will serve as the East Region's top seed for the tournament. Also representing the CACC will be No. 3 seed Post University and No. 10 Nyack College.
Two individuals from CACC institutions qualified for the tournament due to their performance during the season. Making their first appearances in the regional will be Holy Family University senior Jonathan Radick and Felician College junior Joe Leardo.
The top five teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional (regardless of region) will advance to the finals, May 18-21 at The Sagamore Club in Noblesville, Ind. The finals will be hosted by the Indiana Sports Corporation, the University of Indianapolis, the Great Lakes Valley Conference and the Hamilton County Sports Authority.
Goldey-Beacom enters the tournament after placing third at the CACC Championship where two Lightning players claimed All-Conference honors in freshman Devon Ripley and senior Matt Quigley. Goldey-Beacom placed 15th at last season’s regional.
