Former Goldey-Beacom College Men’s Soccer Coach Milton R. Olazagasti Passes Away

WILMINGTON, Del. – The Goldey-Beacom College community was saddened to hear today, Wed., Mar. 31 of the death of Milton R. Olazagasti, former GBC men's soccer coach.  Olazagasti played an important role in the growth of GBC athletics, always a gentleman and always with a focus on student academics.

“It is a tough day for all who knew Milton," GBC Director of Athletics Chris Morgan said. "As a coach and an official, he was a tremendous soccer ambassador, who positively touched many lives.  The Delaware soccer community has lost a legend."
 
Olazagasti coached the GBC men's soccer team from 1991-97 and guided the program to a record of 83-35 during his tenure.  
 
His son, Mark Olazagasti, Class of '85, currently serves as a College Trustee, as well as a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. 
 
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 6  (7-9PM) at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home on Dupont Parkway.  Services will be at 12:30 on Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Milton R. Olazagasti Scholarship Fund at Goldey-Beacom College.
