NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Kate Attenberger of the Goldey-Beacom College women’s soccer team has earned second team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference honors, it was announced today by the conference office. This honor marks the second consecutive year Attenberger has been named to the All-CACC second team.
To date, the senior midfielder has recorded eight points this season on two goals and a team-high four assists. She has also taken 40 shots, putting 11 on goal. Attenberger had a foot in nearly half (six of 14) of the Lightning’s goals this season.
The Newark, Del. native shined in the Lightning’s two wins this season against Washington Adventist and CACC foe Post University. Against WAU, Attenberger led the Lightning on a comeback win as she assisted on the goal to tie the score at two, and then scored the gamewinner to send GBC to its first victory of the season. She followed up that performance with a goal to help lift the Lightning over Post, 3-1.
Attenberger and the Lightning face CACC foe Bloomfield College at 3 p.m. today in the season home finale at Kirkwood Soccer Complex.
