NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Angel Rodriguez of the Goldey-Beacom College men’s soccer team has earned second team All-Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference honors, it was announced today by the conference office.

To date, the senior forward has recorded a team-high 25 points this season on 10 goals and five assists. He has also taken a team-high 66 shots, putting 23 on goal. Rodriguez has had a foot in more than half (15 of 29) of the Lightning’s goals this season.

The Kennett Square, Pa. native was most impressive in back-to-back games against non-league opponent Lincoln University and CACC foe Chestnut Hill College. Against Lincoln, Rodriguez tallied one goal and dished out three assists as the Lightning dominated the Lions, 7-0. He followed up that performance with a four goal and one assist day in the 5-2 win over CHC.

Rodriguez is the first GBC men’s soccer player to garner an All-CACC team honor since 2005 when forward Brett Kirkland made the second-team honors.

Rodriguez and GBC are at Caldwell College today in a CACC battle taking place at 2:30 p.m. The Lightning will wrap up the season on Fri. at Concordia College.
