PIKE CREEK, Del. – The Goldey-Beacom College women’s soccer team fell 5-0 on Wed. afternoon against visiting Philadelphia University in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kristin Degenhardt played the full 90 minutes and made a career-high 20 saves, but the Lady Rams offensive attack was relentless as they took 36 shots on the day and put 27 on net.

The Lightning fell to 2-11 (1-8 CACC) as PU improved to 10-3-3 and 8-1 in league play to stay atop the CACC standings.

PU’s Melissa Copeland broke the game open in the 12th minute off a loose ball in the box, and nearly two minutes later, Dana Rokoszak added another score to give the Lady Rams a 2-0 advantage.

Lauren Pfister made it 3-0 with 10 minutes remaining in the first half off a hard rebound.

In the second half, Nicole Grimm added a score of her own off a cross in the 57th minute, assisted by Pfister.

Natalie Vespe added the final score with 15 seconds remaining to make the final score 5-0.
