Wilmington, DE – Volleyball ends season with win over Lincoln University

The Lightning volleyball team played host to Lincoln University for 2008 the season finale on Tuesday evening.  The team jumped out to an 8-0 lead, thanks to three service aces from Roni Shaner, and never looked back as they cruised to a 25-11first set win.

Emily McMichael's strong service game pushed the Lightning to the lead in the second set, and an ace by Charlotte Minshall sealed the set 25-14.

The service game stayed strong for the Lightning in the third set, with Christine Hudock serving nine straight points to give the Lightning a dominating lead and the set of 25-13.

The Lightning were led by Christine Hudock with 6 kills, 12 digs, and 2 service aces, and Roni Shaner with 20 assists and 6 digs and 5 services aces.  Amanda Mills added 6 kills for the match, while AJ Hicks added 15 digs and 2 service aces. 

The Lightning finished their season 9-19 overall and 4-15 in the CACC.
